Set into a dramatic hillside, this Ti Point residence, designed by Crosson Architects and built by Lindesay Construction, called for a landscape that would complement both the architecture and the rugged coastal environment.
What began as a bare earth bank scattered with Ti Point volcanic rock has been transformed into a layered native landscape. Corten steel edging defines flowing transitions between gardens, lawns, pathways, and the driveway, while Paradise stone slabs form the steps- tying natural materials into the built environment.
A natural pave stabilization mat, finished with Tirau Gold decorative pebble, provides a durable yet refined surface for pathways and the driveway.
The immediate lawn areas, including ramps and pathways, were established with Kikuyu Redi Lawn, while the surrounding terrain was hydroseeded to encourage a soft, natural expanse. Once the hardscape elements were in place, our Greenscape Team installed a fully native planting scheme, ensuring the landscape will continue to evolve and mature within its coastal setting.
Delivered over four months, this project is a testament to considered execution - designed to endure, grow, and settle into the land as if it had always been there.
We are honoured to have collaborated with an exceptional team of trades whose expertise helped bring this vision to life. From the precision of Lindesay Construction in crafting the built environment to the seamless electrical work by Mahurangi Electrical, every detail was executed with care. Flow Irrigation ensured the landscape would thrive long-term, while the design vision of Crosson Architects and Wraight & Associates guided the project’s integration with the land.
